The cleaning mechanism of CELPURGE

CELPURGE is a purging compound for cleaning processing machines, which offers advanced cleaning performance. The outstanding cleaning performance of CELPURGE has achieved through an “expansion” power.

Purging compounds generally can be divided into 2 types;
 1. a semimolten type (containing high-Mw or partially cross-linked polymer),
 2. a surfactant type (containing a surfactant).

The semimolten type uses rubbing power enhanced by the high-Mw / partially cross-linked polymer to scour away stubborn resins adhering to metal surfaces. On the other hand, when cleaning the machines with the surfactant type, the effective ingredient decreases the adhesion between the metal surface and the contaminants and suspends them into the flowing plastics.

Semimolten-type

Purging compounds: Semimolten-type Rub resin residues away from the metal surface.

Surfactant-type

Purging compounds: Surfactant-type Decrease the adhesion between the resin and the metal, and suspend them.

The semi-molten type purging compounds powerfully rub even stubborn deposits away, however, the most crucial disadvantage of them is that they are extremely difficult to be purged by the next materials. The high-Mw / partially cross-linked polymer itself, which enhances the rubbing power, has high viscosity, consequently they not only need a lot of material to be purged, but also tend to be found in subsequently manufactured products as contamination.
Surfactant-type purging compounds have the opposite characteristics. Their viscosity is supposed not to be extremely high, so they generally do not have any problems with self-purging performance. However, the surfactant added in order to weaken the adhesion between the metal surface and the contaminants also decreases the viscosity of the purging compound itself, and consequently make the rubbing power very weak. The surfactant-type purging compound usually is effective against soft contaminants, however, it often flow over stubborn deposits adhering to the metal surface.

CELPURGE is different from the 2 types explained above. It is based on the surfactant type, however, it contains special additives and has expansion power perpendicular to the flow. Thanks to this expansion power the matrix polymer press the deposits and the active components effectively get to the deposit. The active components not only weaken the adhesion but also soften the contaminants, which will finally be lift up and flushed away. Containing no high-Mw or cross-linked materials, CELPURGE has an excellent self-purging performance.

CELPURGE : Thanks to the expansion power, CELPURGE does not flow over the deposits, effectively lifts up and flushes out the deposits.
