As a Sealant for Preventing Carbon Contamination
As a Sealant for Preventing Carbon Contamination
Causes of carbon contamination in injection molding machines include:
- Resin remaining in the molding machine for long periods of time
- Melted resin coming into contact with air
In practice, it seems that users sometimes stop the molding
machine, empty the cylinder, and cut the power supply, but in these cases the
above conditions can certainly arise if the temperature has not dropped sufficiently,
and if the temperature is raised again. Replacing the molding material with
a resin that does not carbonize easily and sealing the screw when stopping
the machine is an effective way to prevent the carbon
contamination that occurs
when stopping the molding machine, and CELPURGE MA2 is highly effective as
a sealant.
CELPURGE MA2 not only resists carbonization even when remaining
in the molding machine for long periods of time or when coming into contact
with air, but also combines a component that plasticizes carbonized materials.
Therefore using it when stopping the machine can create a “soaking effect.”
Furthermore, components that can plasticize carbonized materials are not surfactants;
in fact, this is a big difference between surfactant type purging compounds
and CELPURGE.
